2017: Foundational Scriptures
This year, we are focusing on one foundational passage per month. As we grow in faith, it is important to have some parts of scripture written on our hearts, scriptures that form who we are and inform the way we respond to situations in life. These scriptures have the power not to just to change our actions, but to shape our very identity as people created in the image of God. This year’s twelve passages are just a few of the many parts of scripture that have this potential, but we tried to select some that cover a broad range of life’s questions, journeys, and discoveries. Try memorizing these during this year, focusing on the month’s verse throughout the whole month. Consider having a wall or bulletin board dedicated to these passages, and watch it grow as the year continues. Notice how they come up in your child’s play or language. And, when you have a chance in the rush of life, imagine how the presence of these scriptures in your family might shape your family life.
